Construction Updates
On Monday, April 28th the Chaparral Office opened in the new Administration Building. Building C (Life Skills, LRC, Business, Nova Net) will be ready before the end of school. Buildings D and E (English, Social Studies and Math) will be ready at the beginning of June. Finally, Building F (Science) will be ready in late July. Of course, this is assuming there are no glitches between now and the end of July.
In June, the 200 Building will be readied for demolition. When everyone returns to school in August, nothing but dirt will remain. The final projects to be completed are the new parking lot and tennis courts. Construction will be 100% complete in October, 2008. We have experienced several challenges during this process but the students have been great.
Dress Code
Yes, we do have a dress code on campus. Please remind your children prior to their leaving in the morning to dress appropriately for school. No backless, strapless shirts or dresses for girls and boys' pants MUST cover their boxers. Thank you for all your help and support.
Parking 2008 (First Semester ONLY)
As we begin the 2008-2009 school year, parking will continue to be a challenge. As a result, ONLY SENIORS will be given the opportunity to purchase a parking permit. Once the new parking lot and tennis courts are complete, we will be able to open up additional parking spaces. Mr. Ross has invited next year's seniors wanting to purchase a parking ticket for the next school year to come to the front office and fill out a parking lottery form. Please sign up by May 16th.
THANKS to CHAPTS
The new golf carts have provided the Administrators and Security the mobility to monitor the perimeter of the campus during lunch.
As a reminder, Chaparral is a closed campus. At no time can you call your child out for lunch. This includes all testing schedule days. As you know, this is per school board policy. All SUSD high school campuses are CLOSED campuses. Students are to remain on campus throughout their scheduled school day. Thank you for your cooperation.
